Should I buy Natural CBD or Synthetic CBD?

The availability of CBD oil online has steadily increased over the past few years, giving rise to many online and brick-and-mortar CBD retailers. As a result, unscrupulous companies have attempted to cash in by side-stepping regulations. Their endeavor to evade the rules have impacted the Hemp industry and brought about the synthesizing of Cannabis compounds. While Lynx CBD is all for science, our extraction process has been fine tuned over years, some things are better left to nature.

CBD, or Cannabidiol, is a naturally occuring compound extracted from Hemp or other Cannabis plants. The extract has been rigorously tested for its potential therapeutic applications, as well as its non-psychoactive nature.

The idea of synthesizing CBD originated from companies who synthesized the psychoactive counterpart to CBD, Tetrahydrocannabinol, also known as THC. THC is the Cannabinoid responsible for the “high” Cannabis users experience and led to much of the controversy surrounding Marijuana. As demand for CBD products increased, these companies moved away from targeting euphoric experiences. Instead, they developed synthetic compounds to bond with the endocannabinoid receptors in the body, hoping to mimic the therapeutic benefits. Unfortunately,  recent events have shown the negative side-effects are outweighing the potential benefits of synthetic CBD.

In early March, 2018 a student in North Carolina overdosed on a synthetic CBD Oil purchased from a local vape shop. The synthetic product contained 2 controlled substances know to have side-effects that range from loss of consciousness to sudden death. A more recent story out of Illinois identified a synthetic CBD product as the reason fifty-six people were hospitalized from severe bleeding. Two of the patients eventually lost their lives to the synthesized Cannabinoid. The aforementioned side-effects have not been noted in any research studies on naturally occurring CBD products.

In 2002, the USDA was responsible for pushing organic products into mainstream America when it released its organic product standards. Lynx CBD recognizes the importance of natural goods and sustainability. That’s why Non-GMO and Pesticide-Free Industrial Hemp, grown under natural sunlight, outdoors, using the best organic practices is used for all Lynx CBD products. Furthermore, the CO2 extraction method used is also environmentally friendly.

Regardless of scientific advancements in synthesis, Lynx CBD will continue specializing in high-quality, natural CBD products to foster a sound mind and body. When it’s time to buy CBD always research the company and products to know whether its a natural CBD or synthetic product.
